To overcome these obstacles, this program equips five clinician teams within Curana Health communities with handheld spirometers integrated with NuvoAir’s cloud-based analytics.

- Immediate results for tests that meet quality criteria
- Any test flagged for poor effort or irregular flow is reviewed by a board-certified pulmonologist within 24 hours
- Virtual consultations for complex cases requiring advanced clinical input
- Comprehensive on-site training, ongoing technical assistance and quality-assurance oversight
All spirometry results flow directly into Curana’s electronic health record system, giving physicians and care coordinators continuous visibility into pulmonary function trends, risk scores and automated alert notifications.
Monitoring and Next Steps
Over the coming months, the partners will track key performance indicators:
- Rates of COPD exacerbations
- Time to clinical intervention
- Accuracy of diagnostic coding
These metrics will be reviewed at regular intervals, and aggregate findings shared with healthcare stakeholders. If results prove favorable, the program may expand to additional states and care settings.
